Borrowing procedure: every resident of the village can become a reader of the library. The registration fee is 1.00 euros. The borrowing period is set for three months, the reader has the right to borrow a maximum of five library titles. A fee of EUR 0.50 is charged for each extension of this period by another month.

The municipal library is a public library of an educational nature, which is established and financed by the municipality of Bystričany from its budget in order to ensure the satisfaction of the reading needs of the inhabitants of the municipality. The municipal and school libraries are combined into one unit and are set up in the gym next to the elementary school with the kindergarten. It is part of the regional information center of the village. Readers have the option of a wide selection of beautiful and educational literature. The library plays an important role in the education of the residents of our village. Provides library and information services to readers. Readers have the opportunity to choose the latest titles of novels for women, historical novels, lovers of the art of cooking, homemakers, breeders, gardeners, educational encyclopedias and a wide selection of fairy tales are available for children.

The library closely cooperates with elementary and kindergarten schools, as well as with local organizations such as the pensioners' club, with members of the Jednota COOP. Children visit the municipal library both individually and collectively during school lessons with their teachers. Even our little ones in kindergarten are getting to know books, and even though they can't read yet, they really like the library. Other regular activities of the library include a puppet show for our little ones, competitions, quizzes for elementary school students, discussions, lectures, discussions for pensioners, events aimed at getting to know and presenting the culture of various ethnic groups.
