CARNIVAL in the village of Bystričany

We have had a fun weekend full of music, celebrations and meetings.

Thanks to our members of the volunteer fire department in cooperation with the municipality of Bystričany, we were able to remember carnival customs again this year. From February 28 to March 2, 2025, we experienced a cheerful carnival weekend full of fun, dance, music and good mood.

The members of the DHZ of our village did not idle and again after six years went out into the streets of Bystričany. They exchanged their firefighter uniforms for traditional folk costumes to delight the citizens with singing, music, dancing and good mood. During three days, they managed to have carnival parties in all parts of our village for a penny and a small traditional snack. The carnival participants were accompanied by the folk music of Polianočka throughout the entire time.

On Sunday evening at 6:00 PM, a symbolic burial of the bass took place in the center of the village, where firefighters dressed in costumes accompanied our dear Bystrica bass on its last journey before the 40-day fast.

We believe that these carnival customs have left fond memories in the citizens and we are pleased that our volunteer firefighters are managing to preserve these traditions. We would like to thank everyone for their hard work.
