Slovak Union of Gardeners and Fruit Growers
A branch of the Slovak Gardeners started operating in Bystričany in 1957. Its first chairman was Ján Trnka, the current chairman is Ján Radosa. During its existence, the number of members of the organization constantly changed, as did its presidents. In 1998, the organization recorded its greatest growth, when the number of its members was up to 148. However, at present the number of members is significantly lower. Every year, they actively participate in regional fruit and vegetable exhibitions, a competition in cutting fruit trees and a nationwide competition for the most beautiful apple.
With their voluntary activities during their existence, they helped in the beautification of the village as part of voluntary brigades in the form of tending fruit trees and berry plants, organizing various lectures and demonstrations of cutting fruit trees. Currently, their activity is focused on growing fruit trees in a local orchard, selling fruit from the orchard and selling seeds. Last but not least, ZO SZZ provides cider house services and agricultural services to small tractors.
