Urban land community Bystričany
The activities of the Urban Land Community (UPS) are managed by a committee, which is elected by the general assembly for a 5-year term. The Urban Land Community has changed from a physical entity to a legal entity, and it unites more than 350 shareholders.
The Urban Land Community discusses the requirements that are approved by the UPS work plan at the General Assembly and the Forest Management Plan for the given period. Wood is harvested in forest stands and after harvesting, the bark is smoothed, pruning is carried out and new seedlings are planted. The Forest Management Plan is binding and its implementation is controlled by the Forest Office in Prievidza.
The main income of the community is the logging and sale of wood to customers and members of the UPS. The Urban Land Community helps the village with various events. Upon request, it sponsors the Pensioners' Union of the Bystričany Municipality for events held by members of the pensioners' union, the Bystričany Primary and Kindergarten School, as well as the Dynamo Bystričany Youth Union.
